This aptly-named app for the Palm Pre helps you find your car by allowing you to “pin” your car’s GPS position. You can than ask it to map out the route to your car from your current location. It doesn’t have a section for noting the parking level though, and obviously that can’t be discovered by GPS. The paid version comes with an alarm for the parking meter and a BAC calculator. You can also dial AAA services with a single tap, which is a very nice touch but doesn’t really fit in with the app’s goal of helping you find your car (unless AAA has gotten around to locating cars).

The interface is quite nice but shows needless information such as latitude and longitude from the GPS reading (though that information may come in useful when one needs to check if the GPS radio is working alright – hopefully never). The interface also lets you email or text your car’s location and your current location, another feature that doesn’t quite fit with the app’s overall goal. An extra feature or two never harmed anyone however, and the app is quite useful and well-designed overall – a useful addition to your portfolio.

The Pre has a single button on the front — the ‘Center button.’ Hitting this button takes you into ‘Card View,’ which allows you to swipe left and right between your open cards and then tap on one to enter it. It’s very quick and works rather well.

You can also hold your finger down on a card and then drag it left or right to reposition it next to another card, i.e. placing an email draft next to the web page you’re researching.

Finally, within Card View you can simply swipe up on any card to get rid of it — to essentially close the app. There are no save or close dialog boxes in webOS. Everything is saved automatically.

What I’m working towards saying here is that webOS has the single most intuitive multitasking setup I’ve ever used on a smartphone (and I’ve used nearly all of them). It’s not enough for a smartphone to simply multitask (although it’s enough for it to beat the iPhone in that department), a smartphone today needs to multitask in a way that’s easy to understand to all users.

With Card View, webOS has in one fell swoop made multitasking intuitive and understandable to any user after only a couple of minutes of use. You can tell immediately what apps you have open, choose which apps to close, and navigate between apps quickly and easily. If you have to many cards open, the Pre simply pops up an alert letting you know you need to close some before you continue.

The Palm Pre. It’s not just a phone, it’s a myth, an idea, possibly a legacy… and a really, really long time coming. It’s almost impossible to believe, but the crew at Engadget has been talking about a Linux-based Palm phone since way back in 2004. Through the now-distant years that followed, we were speculating, pontificating, and wishfully-thinking about a new device from a company that we’d come to expect innovation from. But we waited. And waited. And waited. We waited so long, in fact, that we actually penned a lengthy open letter to Palm, pleading for the company to get back on its game. Only when the picture looked really, truly bleak for the folks in Sunnyvale (you know, like $2 a share bleak) did we actually see a spark of hope — two sparks, in fact — called the Pre and webOS.

Yes, this is epic stuff. The Pre (and its accompanying operating system) could likely decide the fate of the company largely credited with ushering in the age of the do-everything phone. Since Palm’s announcement at CES this year, news surrounding the Pre has been a veritable whirlwind of activity: rumors, half-truths, hate, love, fear-mongering, fanboyism, rampant gadget-lust… and even a little late night celebrity for the pint-sized phone. Finally the time has come to put rubber to road and get into the guts of this thing once and for all. Can the Pre and webOS live up to the hype — the kind of hype we haven’t seen since the launch of the original iPhone — or do they snap under the pressure?

Introducing Palm® Pre™, a phone so in sync with your life it feels like it’s thinking ahead for you. Pre pulls your different online calendars into one view, bringing you the information you want without having to search for it. Pre links your contacts from different sources, giving you one place to find what you need. And Pre delivers incoming messages and notifications in an intuitively subtle way, letting you react or respond however you want.1 People, events, information that matters. With Palm Pre, it’ll come to you.

Layered calendars and linked contactsPre uses the Palm® Synergy™ feature to bring your Microsoft Outlook, Google, and Facebook® calendars together for one logical view of your day. And if you have the same contacts in different places, Pre can link them together, making it easier to find the information you need.2

See gallery Activity cardsKeep multiple applications open and move easily between them—email, maps, photos, websites, whatever. Pre thinks of your applications as activity cards, and lets you flip through them, move them around, or throw them away off screen.3

See gallery Intuitive notificationsThings like text messages and calendar appointments appear as notifications at the bottom of the screen. You’ll know what’s going on without being completely interrupted or losing your train of thought.1

See gallery Combined messagingThanks to Palm Synergy, your conversations with the same person are grouped together in one chat-style view. Which means even if it started in IM, for example, you can reply with text. You can also see who’s online right from Contacts, and start a new conversation with just one touch.1

See gallery Universal searchSimply start typing to begin searching your contacts and applications. Pre begins with contacts and apps on the phone, and then offers to search Google, Google Maps, Wikipedia, or Twitter. With a fast browser at 3G speeds, you’ll find what you’re looking for in no time.4

See gallery Email, Wi-Fi, and GPSCheck Microsoft Exchange email or personal email accounts like Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo!. Take advantage of Wi-Fi hotspots. And look up directions or nearby points of interest using GPS. It’s everything you need when you’re on the go.5

See gallery Photos, Music, and VideosTake great pictures with the built-in camera and flash. Watch a video on the vibrant color touchscreen. Buy songs from the Amazon MP3 store and listen using the built-in music player. Plus, use the Palm media sync feature to transfer your DRM-free iTunes music, videos, and photos to your Pre.6

See gallery Breakthrough designSlide out the keyboard for faster and easier texting. Close it up and rotate Pre for music, websites, photos, and videos in full widescreen glory. You get the best of both worlds in one beautifully designed phone.1

See gallery Applications
Get applications by browsing the catalog on your Pre, and then download them over the air directly to your phone. Apps designed for the Palm webOS™ platform are integrated with other apps on the phone. Buy movie tickets, for example, and you can add the times right to your calendar.1

Learn more Palm Services
Use over-the-air Palm Services to automatically back up your important data, restore it, or even remotely erase your data if your phone is lost or stolen. You also receive your software updates over the air without connecting to your computer.7

The Palm Pre was recently released along with some extremely enticing palm preapps. One of the most useful applications for the Palm Pre is the stopwatch\timer. This application allows you to have a virtual stop watch on your phone or to have a timer that you can use when cooking.

Another great Palm Pre application is OpenTable and is by far one of the most popular applications. OpenTable is a Palm Pre app that allows users to read reviews of restaurants in their area. It also allows users to make reservations at one of the thousands of restaurants throughout the country. This is an extremely convenient application for the Palm Pre because it eliminates the need for needing to call a restaurant to make a reservation.

Another one of the best Palm Pre apps is the Mileage Monitor. This application allows you to figure out how much mileage you’re getting per gallon out of your car. Each time you’re at the pump you simply need to take not of how much gas is in your car and how many miles are on your odometer. This Palm Pre application will also ask you to take note of how much the gas costs that you are putting into your car. After you go for your next fill up this Palm Pre app will be able to tell you how many miles you’re getting per gallon!

One of the most popular Palm Pre apps is the NFL Mobile application. This application for the Palm Pre allows you to track the progress of NFL teams, games, and even players. One of the coolest parts about this Palm Pre application is that it allows you to set up a fantasy league and manage it through your Palm Pre.

If you’re looking for some exciting Palm Pre Apps you may want to check out some of the home brewed applications. Home brewed applications are apps that were created by users that are not available through the official Palm Pre App store. In recent months the number of home brewed applications has far exceeded the number of official applications. One of the nicest parts about picking up some of these home brewed applications for the Palm Pre is that many of them are free! Either way, the Palm Pre certainly has a fair amount of applications out there to choose from that you can put on your phone!
